  1.              TELEGARD SUPPORT CONFERENCE (TG_SUPPORT) GUIDELINES

  7. This is TG_SUPPORT, the Telegard Support Conference, devoted to discussions
  8. about, and support of, the Telegard bulletin board system.  To participate
  9. here, the following simple guidelines should be kept in mind:

  11. 1.  BE POLITE.  (I think that speaks for itself.)  Discussion and debate is
  12.     allowed, but behavior which could be classified even remotely as sub-human
  13.     is not.  If you feel you must behave in a boorish manner, I suggest you
  14.     use NetMail (where you can be boorish to your heart's content).
  15.  
  16. 2.  STAY ON-TOPIC.  Generally, anything which is not in the galactic vicinity
  17.     of Telegard is regarded as off-topic, with the following topics being the
  18.     most specific:
  19.  
  20.       ->  Hacks, knock-offs, and other deviants from the actual Telegard
  21.           program (this most specifically includes Renegade BBS, the most
  22.           blatant of TG knock-offs).  We're sick of hearing about them.
  23.  
  24.       ->  Telegard source code.  It's not going to be released, period, end
  25.           of discussion.
  26.  
  27.       ->  The future of Telegard.  After the upcoming release (scheduled to
  28.           be out by the end of 1992), TG development comes to a close.  This
  29.           decision is a done deal, and is not going to be reversed.
  30.  
  31.     Entering into "Off-Topic Land" will get you a pretty nasty slap on the
  32.     wrist, with even more pain to follow if it persists. :-)

  34. 3.  NO DISCUSSION OF ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES, particularly discussions which
  35.     encourage it.  If you're not sure what constitutes an illegal activity,
  36.     we'll be more than happy to inform you... believe me. :-)

  38. 4.  AVOID ONE-ON-ONE CHIT-CHAT.  Since this conference is being distributed
  39.     privately, rather than on the FidoNet backbone, it costs all of us more
  40.     money to participate.  Restrict idle chatter to NetMail or voice.

  42. 5.  USE YOUR REAL NAME.  It's more professional to deal with a real person,
  43.     as opposed to "Snoopy", "/<00l DooD", "King of the Hackers".
  44.  
  45. 6.  KEEP ANSI TO A MINIMUM.  An ANSI signature is acceptable; full-screen ANSI
  46.     displays are not.  If this rule is abused, ANSI will be disallowed
  47.     totally, so let's not abuse it, eh?  (Telegard MCI color codes are not
  48.     allowed at this time.)

  50. 7.  LISTEN TO THE MODERATORS.  We're in charge, so it would behoove you to
  51.     take what we say seriously.  Also, don't try to moderate others; that's
  52.     our job, not yours.

  54. 8.  CONFERENCE ACCESS.  TG_SUPPORT is distributed as EchoMail via private
  55.     links.  Links may _only_ be obtained from one of the Telegard beta sites
  56.     (which will be listed in a later message), and _only_ beta sites may
  57.     provide links.  In addition, _only_ Telegard SysOps may access this echo.
  58.     Violating these restrictions will result in your IMMEDIATE removal from
  59.     this echo, as will providing access to people whose access has been
  60.     removed and/or have been denied access in the first place.

  62. 9.  MISCELLANEOUS.  No advertisements... keep quoting to a minimum... others I
  63.     can't recall at the moment (as well as ones I'm bound to think up on-the-
  64.     fly).

  68.     READ ALL THE RULES AGAIN.

  70. Let's all try to keep these basic guidelines in mind.  If we do, we're bound
  71. to accomplish a great many things, but above all, have a lot of fun!
